Healthy gums, prerequisite for healthy teeth

Your dental Clinics dentist, oral hygienist, prevention or paro assistant checks the health of your gums at each and every periodical check. They look for cavities and if there is empty space under your gums and if fillings are properly fitting. Six areas (upper and lower, small and big teeth left and small and big teeth right) are categorically checked and given a note according to ‘the Dutch Parodontal Index). Notes are kept in your patients records. Wherever necessary, tooth plaque and tartar are removed with special instruments. Polishing and applying protective materials such as fluoride is possible as well. For gum problems which could be harmful to your health, a treatment plan is produced. Your dentist will advise you beforehand about he plan and about the cost.
